A few honest answers

Before you begin.

What is Free, and what does Pro add?

Free includes one editable scratchpad for arithmetic, percentages, local variables, units, and conversions, without an account. Pocket Scribe and Quick Calculation with saved drafts are Free in the desktop apps. Pro adds multiple documents, folders, shared variables, editable templates, Composer, Canvas, Branchpoint, and Blueprint. Local MCP requires desktop Pro. Free can view starter examples without editing them.

Can I use one purchase on web and desktop?

Yes. One license is for one person, with web access and three desktop activations managed through the same verified email. Desktop access works offline for up to 90 days after validation. Desktop 1.x updates are included. Purchased web capabilities remain available while the service operates; cloud sync, hosted AI credits, and future separately priced services are excluded.

How do the trial, checkout, and refunds work?

Start the 14-day Pro trial explicitly after verifying your email. No card and no automatic charge; reinstalling does not restart it. After the trial, existing work stays readable and exportable and one Free scratchpad stays editable. Stripe Managed Payments hosts checkout, with Link for receipts, invoices, and order management. Request and confirm a full refund in your account within 14 days; paid Pro access ends after Stripe confirms it. Statutory rights and Link support remain available.

Can I buy for personal or business use?

Both receive the same features and price. Choose your intended use before checkout so the correct software tax category applies. Founding pricing follows the published cutoff; eligible earlier reservations retain their reserved currency price after you verify the reservation email. Review the final currency and tax at checkout.

Is Continuum a spreadsheet replacement?

Use Continuum when you want to work through a problem in words and calculations, with assumptions you can change. A spreadsheet is often a better fit when the work depends on a large table or repeated row-and-column operations.

Where are my calculations stored?

Documents and settings stay in the current browser or desktop app data store. Your account recovers your purchase, not your files. Cloud synchronization is not included; export complete backups to keep your own copies.

Does the live demo save anything?

No. The embedded demo evaluates what you type inside that page and does not create a Continuum document or write to workspace storage.

Can an AI tool work with my canvases?

Yes, with Pro access in the packaged macOS, Windows, and Linux apps. Continuum’s local stdio MCP server can inspect canvases, validate Blueprint or Mermaid source, and stage proposed graph or layout changes. Every write remains temporary until you explicitly approve it inside Continuum.

Can I download Pocket Scribe?

Yes. Continuum 1.3.0 is available for Apple Silicon macOS, with Pocket Scribe and Quick Calculation included in Free. Builds are also available for Windows x64 and Debian or Ubuntu Linux on x64 and ARM64. The macOS app is signed and notarized. Windows and Linux packages are unsigned and were not runtime-tested for this release.
